Disaster risk is the consequence of the interaction between a hazard and the characteristics that make people and places vulnerable and exposed. This course introduces basic principles of disaster risks, hazard, and vulnerability. In addition, students will learn from various actors who engage in disaster response, recovery, and preparedness in and out of Japan.
